The words here are not used as efficiently as they could be. “Select One” is not a particularly informative phrase to have as the default value on a dropdown menu. Anyone who has encountered a dropdown menu before will know that it is going to contain things that they can select. If they put the word “Category” there, then it would be more informative and they could remove the words “by category” from the phrase on the left, which would save them some space and make the whole thing less cluttery.
