Add your perspective

I am sure that many of the things that I’ve written about in my blog this year have been said before by other people. For whatever reason, that didn’t seem to be a reason to not write about the things that were on my mind. Sometimes it’s only the 11th time that you hear something that it makes sense or really sticks with you, even if the first ten times were saying more or less the same thing.

My friend said he thought I would enjoy the Twitter account @visualizevalue and I did but I was confused because he said it made him think of my blog. I asked why and he said, “It’s filled with life lessons. You use anecdotes to demonstrate the message. This Twitter account uses graphics.” The account pairs good quotes and thoughts with simple graphics that drive the point home visually. For example: “Life is trying things to see if they work.” — Ray Bradbury and Constraint drives creativity.

The creative and insightful graphics illustrate the points without adding any extra meaning, but they do add extra force. The perspective of this visual artist expressed in concise graphics gives the reader another way to remember, hold on to, and use the insight of the quote.

Add your perspective. Your perspective is worth adding to the world. Holding it back is helping no one.
