When you’re looking for something, it’s helpful to have containers so that you know where to look within. It’s easy to find your car because it’s in the garage and there are only 2 cars in the garage. It’s relatively easy to find the forks in the silverware drawer because there’s only silverware in that drawer and there are only a few different types of utensils—forks, knives, and spoons. It’s harder to find the spare key in the junk drawer because the spare key is small and there’s a large hodgepodge of things in the junk drawer. There’s a saying that I discovered later in life than I wished I had, and follow less than I strive to:
“A place for everything and everything in its place.”
