It’s not me

My friend gave me some new T-shirts that didn’t fit him and that he never wore but when I got home and tried them on, they weren’t really my style or color, so I’m going to give them back to him to give to someone else. They’re not me.

They’re not me. What does that mean? It doesn’t match who I am? No, it can’t mean that because I buy new clothes that don’t exactly fit with my existing set of clothes, but I think ‘This is me’ about them. So it means that those T-shirts don’t match who I want to be, who I am becoming. And the beautiful thing about life is that you get to choose who you are becoming. When something bad or negative happens to you, you get to decide—Are you going to let that define you?
