One of the things I like about poker is that the blinds (the mandatory bets) increase as the game goes on. This forces you to think about your stack of chips and your cards in a different way. Your chips will diminish faster as the size of the blinds goes up, and you’ll be forced to exercise more care in choosing which hands to play as your chip stack dwindles. It accentuates something that was probably true all along:
You have limited resources. Make your bets count.
It’s like living your life as if your days were numbered and also waking up every day knowing that tomorrow will be shorter than today.
