Things I Learned from My Grandmother (#1): Keep learning

My grandmother passed away yesterday morning in her sleep at the age of 100. One thing I always admired about her was her desire and ability to keep learning. Several years ago, she needed some help with Microsoft Excel so I went over to her house to help her but when she told me the problem, it wasn’t something that Excel could do. She was limited by the product and had a feature request.

When mobile banking was relatively new, she saw me depositing a check with my smartphone and she said, “You mean to tell me that you can deposit a check using your iPhone?” I said, “Yes,” thinking that I was going to teach her how to do it but then she said, “I usually use my iPad.” Rest in peace, Paw Paw. I’ll miss you dearly.
