You can lead a horse to water, but you can’t make it drink. The version of that that I’m living right now is: You can lead a kid to bed, but you can’t make them sleep. You probably have your own version. You can control some things, but not everything. So just do what you can do, adjust, and don’t worry too much about what you can’t control. Better to plan for it and plan around it than to plan to push through it. The horse will drink when it’s thirsty. The kid will sleep when they’re tired. And not any earlier.
