I sat to the side of my 4-year-old son while he was in a video conference meeting with his preschool teacher and classmates on my laptop and I watched with surprise to see my son be shy and soft spoken in the classroom setting when at home he runs around screaming with joy after he wins an Uno game (“I am the Uno master!”) and is often somewhat uncontrollable. It turns out he has a work voice too.
It’s important to change environments and explore. You don’t know that a chameleon will change colors until you see it in a different environment. You don’t know that someone can swim until they drop into the water. You don’t realize that someone can play the piano until you put a piano in front of them.
Maybe the first Eskimo didn’t know that ice can melt and you can drink it.
