A pet peeve of mine is when people don’t use enough mayonnaise. They spread it on a slice of bread covering it completely, but it’s only a very thin layer. What’s the point? This is not a paint job, it’s a taste job. You can’t taste the mayonnaise if you don’t use enough. Same with pesto. When a spoonful of pesto gets stirred into pasta, you can taste it a little bit, maybe get some stuck in your teeth, but mostly it just makes everything a little greenish. I’d rather have my spoonful of pesto in a spoon or on a single cracker than 50 fusilli, and really taste it.
Same with you. Don’t spread yourself too thin with your projects or your people. They might not notice you’re there. They might rather have a spoonful of pesto. They need quality time. Let yourself make a difference.
