Once the glass of a car windshield is cracked, it’s very hard to stop the crack from continuing to grow longer because the crack has somewhere to go. It’s focused. The way they fix this is to drill a small circular hole at the end of the crack, so that it loses its focus and its energy is dispersed.
The surest way to not go anywhere is to try to go everywhere at once.
