Slow feedback

When you touch hot oil or water or metal, it’s immediately apparent and you pull your hand away.

Yesterday, I got sunburned. The problem is slow feedback. If there had been a point in time where my skin screamed to me, “You’re getting burned now”, then I would have put on a shirt or moved into the shade. But there was no point in time like that. It became obvious to me that I was sunburned only a few hours later when I looked in mirror and took a shower.

If I receive bad food or bad service at a restaurant, I usually don’t tell my server or fill out a feedback card. I just don’t go back. If there are enough customers like me, then the restaurant slowly figures it out, maybe.

Where is the slow feedback in your life?

How can you make it faster?
